For well over a year I have used headphones that I hated from the moment I opened the package they came in. The original ear buds that came with my ipod had broken, and somehow standing in RadioShack I was tricked. They were a style of headphone that hook over your ear and have a chord between them you wear around your neck. I don't recall what I expected, but do recall standing on the street outside the store being severely disappointed. Unfortunately there are things like this in my life where I just deal. Instead of walking straight back in and returning them, or replacing them soon after, I have continued to wear them, continued to pump my blood pressure up while they were tangled every time I went to use them, and continued look especially stupid wearing them (even more so when coupled with sunglasses). That less than interesting story brings me to today. I was hard charging through Union Square this morning in the normal sea of humanity. My jacket was open, and the chord from those atrocious ear goggles was hanging in front of me. I felt my head jerk slightly. A man passing on my left had some how caught my chord on part of him. He kept going and I kept going. And so it was. Those things yanked clean off my head, and I never looked back. I immediately thought, this is how it ends. I couldn't yank them off myself so it was done for me. Now I'm free and my next pair will be carefully scouted. As for the pair that ended up on the floor of Union Square, I'm sure they were scooped up in record time and used as a bracelet by one my mentally ill comrades who walk these streets.

If you need Tone Loc he's coming to my home town. It's a pretty great story. Why would his "manager" be trolling through Milford, MI? Who's the guy in the article who claims "I'm a big Tone Loc fan"? What does a Tone Loc set list look like? Anybody else hope he plays Mean Green or Freaky Behavior? No? Just, Funky Col Medina and Wild Thing? Well I'm sure I've spent $30 on worse.
