THIN LIZZY

I've returned from the west coast. Good times. For all its traffic and supreme douche bags, Los Angeles speaks to me. For all its supreme evil and life destroying properties Las Vegas also speaks to me.

Got to see Maria Bamford, Jim Gaffigan, and Bob Odenkirk on the same show for $5. Also on the show were some sketch performers who were really great. The thing that struck me about the show was that the stuff that a bunch of the comics were doing was going over big but if they had to do it in southeast Michigan there's just no way. There topics and delivery were hilarious but I tried to imagine them at the Comedy Castle or somewhere and it would be ugly. Fart and dick jokes be damned!! I was also struck by the fact that Bob Odenkirk by his own admission is not really doing stand-up anymore and seemingly made up his act in his car on the way to the club and used a ton of notes. He still faired well.

The working poor apparently will be staying that way as the U.S. Senate thinks $5.15 still sounds about right for folks working their ass off to live in poverty. Not to worry though, your saviour the democrats wanted to make sure that it went all the way up to $7.25 by 2007! Good Luck.

I've been on a Raggae kick of late and wanted to hip you to a couple of artists I've been digging. Max Romeo and Junior Byles have been bringing it.

..

You got it.
