Who knew...... That I would take so much heat for a couple words on the front page of this site? The focus of this heat has centered on referring to myself as a "hater of children". My marketing department is going to catch hell for this one. People who don't even give a shit about me are emailing in disgust. I'd simply ask everyone to take a look around the site, see what, if anything is written in a serious tone and then relax. For some, even joking about a dislike for the cute, vibrant, future of our world is as absurd as calling yourself a "hater of children". I'm not even going to go into detail here about my relationship with the youth. Just like adults, if you're cool, then we're cool. After all, they are just miniature big people. Now get back to the factory Jimmy and quit crying about your blankey, whatever that means.
Everything about Katrina is fucked up.
How is it that the girl missing in Aruba is still news? It's horrible that she went missing but how many residents of Aruba have gone missing before and since? How many other abductions happen every day all over the world and it's not a major headline? Who is this girl? If she were fat would it matter? If she were Hispanic would it matter? Is there a tie to somebody important? I'm confused, again.
First Blood (the film) has once again been brought to the front of my brain of late. It's the first 'R' film I saw, as well as one of the first I saw on VHS. It's an important film in a lot of ways to me. I'm not championing it, as a film that should have won an Oscar or anything, just that the story is solid and as action films go it cannot be denied. The portion of the film that I will defend as being as dramatically sound as any award winner is the final scene when an exhausted and emotionally drained John Rambo breaks down in front of his Commanding Officer. Stallone in that ammunition store gives a performance for the ages. Long before he would go Over the Top, or act over the top in Judge Dread, dude put together a genius-acting exhibition. Rambo speaks to the horrors of Vietnam, and his treatment since returning home. Yes, he went to war with an entire town, but they pushed him, and wouldn't stop pushing.
Enough with the 20+-year-old film reviews; I gotta go sign somebody’s cast. I'm sorry. Is it taboo to talk about broken limbs on here? Rather than edit, I'll simply apologize to anyone with a broken appendage, or anyone with a family member suffering as such. I like casts, I swear.
