I was discussing the cost that World Series tickets are being sold for, and a friend remarked he wouldn't even pay those prices to see one of those "deals" in the Roman Coliseum where the Tiger eats somebody. He then trailed off saying, "I wouldn't want to see that shit anyway". I think that was a pretty bad comparison. If you're discussing a coveted ticket, and you want to give an example of something even better that you wouldn't pay that same amount to see, you should try and make sure that your example is in fact a ticket, to an event you'd like to see. Perhaps he was trying to say a Tiger eating show at the Coliseum would be a hot ticket, but not to him? Maybe he was thinking the cost of time travel wouldn't be as expensive as World Series tickets, even though he has no interest in be being bothered. He'd have to get into the machine or walk through the portal, find a toga and sandals, pay over a thousand modern day U.S. dollars for the ticket, make sure to point his thumb downward when asked if he thinks a man should get eaten, and then still have to look away, since "he doesn't want to see that shit". I'm probably reaching by even bringing this up.
