Calgary...Alberta...Canada
After about 8 hours of being in transit yesterday/today, Calgary greeted me with a temperature of 39 degrees (I deal in fahrenheit). That's a 35 degree swing from when I left New York, fortunately I had all my hats on the top of my suit case and all my warm clothes at the bottom. Stocking cap and a t-shirt, letting the cab driver know I am not afraid. Customs and immigration went as smoothly as possible but I can't help but feel like at any moment the cuffs are going to go on in these types of situations. Not sure what my issue is, but I was standing there with all my papers in order, not trying to get away with anything, and still in my head going "be cool, dude" like I had a suitcase full of lawn darts. Aiding me in getting through customs so swiftly was the tour group of 40 Japanese who were on my plane. When they rolled into the view of the skeleton crew of customs agents at just after midnight, with their handlers barking instructions, my stamp became a mere formality.
